Consternation

She ran through the golden field. Dusk was setting in, the sky was a peaceful mirage of oranges, pinks, and purples. It was a picturesque moment, and she had a very auspicious feeling for tonight. The hopes of all the years sparkled in her eyes as she ran towards Miguel. He was her everything. He's the snow to her mountain, the water to her clouds. They couldn't be without each other, and no matter what, they would always love each other. But Miguel didn't look excited to see her. He had despondent tears flowing down his cheeks. He was looking into the sunset, and didn't hear Tessa coming. She stopped running, and stared at him, wonderstruck. He couldn't help but think about the news he had to tell Tessa, the atrocious news. Every time he thought about it, more tears came. He wished, with everything he had, that what he was going to tell Tess wasn't true. But, to his dismal, it was quite true. He turned and saw Tessa, she had terror written on her face, and she asked, "Miguel, why are you crying?"
"Tessa, I don't-"
"What's going on?"
"Tessa, I'm dying."
